Türk Telekom Exceeded Expectations in Financial Data
Türk Telekom is making a very strong start to 2026, posting remarkable figures in its financial statements. The company’s Earnings Before Interest, Depreciation and Tax (EBITDA) increased by 17.1 percent compared to the same period last year, reaching 27.4 billion TL.
EBITDA margin reached a strategic level of 42.3 percent with an improvement of 300 basis points. This table shows that the company successfully manages its costs while increasing its operational efficiency.
Especially the result of 10.5 billion TL in the net profit item proves that Türk Telekom is not only a technology company, but also how financially sound it is.
The company, which does not slow down its investment appetite, continues to contribute to Turkey’s future by investing 17 billion TL in the first quarter. A large part of these investments is directed to fiber networks and data centers that prepare the infrastructure of 5G technology.
550 Thousand Kilometer Limit Exceeded in Fiber Conversion
Türk Telekom, which has built fiber networks in all 81 provinces, continues to strengthen Turkey’s digital backbone. As of the first quarter of 2026, fiber network length reached 550 thousand kilometers. This massive network provides access to 34.4 million households in Türkiye. The share of fiber among fixed broadband subscribers has reached a record level of 93.6 percent.
The number of fiber subscribers reaching 14.4 million shows that users’ demand for higher speeds is increasing. While 7.1 million of these subscribers enjoy the comfort of direct fiber to the home (FTTH/B), 7.3 million benefit from fiber to the field cabinet (FTTC) infrastructure. Türk Telekom CEO Ebubekir Şahin emphasizes that Türk Telekom has the lion’s share in Turkey becoming the second country with the highest increase in fiber home access in Europe.
Subscriber Gain Increased on Mobile
Türk Telekom is also blowing the wind in the mobile segment. The company demonstrated its highest first quarter performance in mobile net subscriber addition since 2014. A historical record was broken with 4.8 million net postpaid subscriber additions in the last 12 months.
The increase in the total number of subscribers to 57.2 million shows that the digital services and customer satisfaction-oriented strategies offered by the company have been met.
Şahin states that the “5G for Everyone” vision and artificial intelligence-supported solutions lie behind this success in mobile. The fact that 62 percent of LTE base stations are connected via fiber puts Türk Telekom one step ahead of its Competitors in the 5G transition process.
With the spectrum capacity obtained in the 5G frequency tender, it is aimed to provide an uninterrupted experience in every corner of Türkiye.
The Transformative Power of 5G
Addressing technology with a vision that is not only speed-oriented but also people-oriented, Türk Telekom integrates 5G technology into every aspect of life. 5G applications are being implemented in many different branches, from health to art.
The tactile seat experience offered to visually impaired sports fans with the “5G Barrier-Free Tribune” project or the digital exhibitions held at the Atatürk Cultural Center are the best examples of how technology turns into social benefit.
In addition, the company maintains the “A Leadership” level in the CDP Climate Change program in line with its sustainability targets and adopts an environmentally friendly growth model. Türk Telekom, which initiated the Science-Based Targets Initiative (SBTi) verification process in line with its net zero targets, positions 2026 as a “year of leadership” in both technological and environmental terms.
