Honor’s New Ultra-Thin Phone Revealed

Honor’s New Ultra-Thin Phone Revealed

Honor’s new ultra-thin smartphone has entered the development phase. The company is abandoning the Air name and competing with the iPhone series.

Honor raises the bar higher every day with its “ultra-thin” models that combine aesthetics and performance in the smartphone world. The Chinese technology giant, which made a big hit with the Magic 8 Pro Air model, which was introduced earlier in the year and attracted attention with its 6.1 mm thickness, rolled up its sleeves for the new member of the series.

However, the latest leaked information shows that Honor may make a significant strategy change in this new generation thin flagship. While it is rumored that the “Air” tag may be shelved, the device is expected to come with revolutionary screen and battery improvements on the technical side.

Name Change in Slim Design: Why Is Air Jewelry Going Away?

According to information shared by SmartPikachu, one of the industry’s reliable leak sources, Honor’s next “ultra-thin” phone is currently in one of the most critical stages of development. Although Honor usually follows market trends when naming its products, this time it plans to follow a different path.

Magic 8 Pro Air, the company’s first-generation slim flagship, was launched specifically as a direct response to Apple’s anticipated “iPhone Air” model.

However, new leaks show that Honor wants to turn this slim series into a premium brand perception in itself, rather than a piece of jewelry. The name change aims to emphasize that the device is not just a “thin and light” phone, but a full-fledged flagship with no sacrifices made on the hardware side.

Competition Intensifies with iPhone Air

The year 2026 is recorded as a year in which “thinness” wars took place in the smartphone market. Honor responded harshly to the ultra-thin body trend that Apple started with the iPhone 17 series with the Magic 8 Pro Air. As a reminder, the current Magic 8 Pro Air model is only 6.1 mm thick and weighs 155 grams. These values make the phone one of the most portable flagships on the market.

In the new model, Honor is expected to push these limits even further. Industry analyzes state that Honor will focus on “small but improved” screen technology in its next generation device. This technology allows for a thinner body by narrowing the physical area of the panel and increasing the brightness and energy efficiency it offers.

Advanced Battery Technology: High Capacity in a Slim Body

Generally, as phones become thinner, their battery capacity decreases at the same rate. However, Honor had demonstrated a great engineering success by fitting a 5500 mAh battery into a 6.1 mm body in the Magic 8 Pro Air model.

It is expected that improved silicon-carbon battery technology will be used in the new generation model. This technology increases the energy density of the battery, allowing it to store much more power in the same size. Thus, users enjoy using an ultra-thin device throughout the day without any charging problems.

Honor’s New Strategy: Both Stylish and Powerful

Honor’s new flagship will not only be a design-oriented device. The company integrates advanced artificial intelligence capabilities into the hardware with the new generation Magic series. It is estimated that the iconic appearance, identified with the “pill”-shaped camera design on the back of the device, will take on a more modern and compact structure in the new model.

It is not yet clear when the device will hit the global market or what its name will be. However, news from Honor’s R&D laboratories shows that giants such as Apple and Samsung will not have an easy time in the “thin phone” market.

Although Honor is gearing up in the Chinese market, it will not be a surprise if this new generation “stealth” model is introduced with a major launch worldwide in the last quarter of the year.
