Google’s New Operating System Aluminum OS Leaked

Google’s New Operating System Aluminum OS Leaked

Google’s new desktop operating system, Aluminum OS, has been leaked. Here are the interface, features and notable details of the system.

Aluminum OS, the new desktop operating system that Google is working on, was revealed with detailed images and videos leaked to the internet. The 16-minute video shared by Mystic Leaks offers important clues about the interface and basic features of the system.

The leak in question shows that the current version of the operating system is an Android version optimized for large screens. While users are greeted with a familiar installation wizard, the general structure of the system aims to bring the experience on mobile devices to the desktop.

Aluminum OS Features and Interface Details

In the shared images, an application slot and application drawer button located at the bottom of the screen attract attention. Users can access the notification panel and quick settings via icons in the status bar; These panels open compactly from the side of the screen.

The system comes with virtual desktop support and an advanced task manager to improve the desktop experience. Virtual desktops, accessible via the recent applications screen, allow users to organize different workspaces.

Another detail that stands out in the leak is the Link to iOS application that provides integration with Apple iPhone devices. This feature reveals Google’s intention to build an ecosystem between laptops and mobile devices.

Desktop Experience and Expectations

Aluminum OS is currently running with the UTM emulator on a MacBook Pro. In its current form, the system hosts web-based Google applications that run within windows, rather than applications specifically optimized for mouse and keyboard use.

The leaker likes this experience to an improved version of Samsung DeX rather than a real desktop operating system. Google is expected to announce more details about this software project within the scope of the events it organizes.

The current state of the system still offers a limited experience for users looking for a desktop-class operating system. Time will tell how Google will differentiate this software in its official launch and with what hardware it will offer it.

Do you think Google can be successful with an Android-based operating system on the desktop side?
