Google has officially introduced its new generation foldable flagship, the Pixel 11 Pro Fold. The company not only strengthened the hardware but also made significant changes to the phone’s weight, thickness, hinge system, and durability. The Pixel 11 Pro Fold is approximately 10 percent lighter and 1 mm thinner than its predecessor. Google also reduced the screen bezels, making the overall design of the foldable phone more compact.

Despite its thinner body, the Pixel 11 Pro Fold is three times stronger than its predecessor.

Pixel 11 Pro Fold is thinner and more durable

Google has changed the hinge system, one of the most critical aspects of foldable phones, in the new generation. The Pixel 11 Pro Fold uses a new gearless hinge

that helps protect the inner screen.

On the back cover, glass fiber composite material has been used to increase crack resistance. The outer screen is also protected by ceramic coated glass. According to Google’s own tests, all these changes make the phone three times more durable

compared to the Pixel 10 Pro Fold. The device also offers IP68 level water and dust protection.

To smooth the fold line on the inner screen, the bending radius of the hinge has been increased and a thicker glass layer has been used. Both screens are 20 percent brighter than the previous generation and can reach a peak brightness of 3,600 nits. It comes with Tensor G6 and 16 GB of RAM. At the heart of the Pixel 11 Pro Fold is Google’s new Tensor G6 processor. This processor is accompanied by 16 GB of RAM, and the phone is specifically designed for Gemini Intelligence. Multitasking features like Split Screen and Drag and Drop are retained to maximize the screen’s usability. Google also offers a new multitasking experience that allows apps to be held as bubbles on the screen. Another striking innovation of the Pixel 11 Pro Fold is HiLight. Using LEDs around the camera flash, the system can display information such as incoming calls and interactions with Gemini in different colors.

On the camera side, the Pixel 11 Pro Fold has a new 48-megapixel main camera

. The telephoto camera offers up to 30x Super Zoom support. New camera features such as Magic Capture and Camera Looks, introduced with the Pixel 11 family, are also available on the foldable model.

Charging speed has also been improved

Google has also improved the charging performance of the Pixel 11 Pro Fold. The phone can reach 50%

in approximately 30 minutes with 30W wired charging.

On the wireless side, it offers up to 25W charging
via built-in Qi2.2 support. According to Google, wireless charging performance has increased by 20 percent compared to the previous generation Fold. The company also states that the device offers over 24 hours of battery life.

The Pixel 11 Pro Fold comes in Obsidian and the new Olive color options. Available for pre-order starting August 12th, the phone will be on shelves on August 20th.
