Xiaomi has added a new portable ice maker to its range of home appliances under the Mijia brand. The device is currently available for pre-order on the Xiaomi Youpin platform for 359 yuan, with general sales expected to begin on August 17th.

Distinguished by its compact design, the device measures 290 x 260 x 210 mm and weighs 6.1 kg. Its base area, similar to A4 paper, allows for easy use in confined spaces such as kitchen countertops or offices.

Technical Details and Performance

Operating with 110W of power, the device can also meet its power needs outdoors with a standard car inverter. The machine produces eight ice cubes per cycle and offers users two different modes: Quick Ice and Standard Ice.

The Quick Ice mode prepares ice in six to eight minutes. The Standard mode, while slower, produces larger and more open ice cubes.

Xiaomi states that thanks to its special freezing process, it reduces air bubbles and impurities in the ice. These dense ice cubes melt in approximately seven minutes in 300 ml of water, cooling drinks like cold coffee or cocktails without affecting their taste.

The device includes a 1-liter water tank and a removable 0.75-liter ice basket. The basket can store between 64 and 80 ice cubes at once.

The machine has a total ice production capacity of 13 kg in 24 hours of continuous operation. Using R600a refrigerant for its cooling system, it is recommended to use the device with purified or filtered drinking water.

Hygiene and Ease of Use

Xiaomi has added a built-in UV lamp and sterilization feature to make device maintenance easier. A five-minute self-cleaning cycle is activated when the Ice Making and Reserve buttons are pressed and held for three seconds.

The control panel consists of easy-to-use LED indicators showing water levels, UV status, and selected mode. Additionally, the device features a timer that allows you to delay ice production for three, five, or eight hours.

The transparent window on the top cover allows you to check the ice level without opening the machine. There is also a special compartment on the device for the ice scoop included in the box.
