12 Months of Free AI Plus for University Students
Google aims to facilitate students’ academic studies with its new education-focused strategy. While the Google AI Pro package with 5 TB of storage is offered to students in the US, the Google AI Plus subscription is featured in other markets.
This subscription model aims to meet the high processing capacity and ample storage space that students need during their demanding study schedules. Students wishing to benefit from the campaign must meet the specified eligibility criteria.
The company announced this subscription offer simultaneously with the Gemini Student Center. The Student Center simplifies the management of course materials by combining tools such as study notebooks and flashcards on a single platform.
Gemini can create personalized assessment exams from uploaded lecture notes and curriculum. This system helps students create personalized study plans by analyzing their strengths and weaknesses.
The system, which integrates with NotebookLM, allows for the creation of visual explanations and different study content from documents. In addition, complex topics such as DNA can be examined interactively with three-dimensional models.
The Deep Research feature allows for voice research via Gemini Live. The prepared reports can be reviewed in detail through voice interaction.
New period and privacy policies in educational tools
Google applies high privacy standards to Workspace for Education accounts offered to educational institutions. The company states that Gemini chats and uploaded documents are not visible to human reviewers.
Educational information is not used for the purpose of developing generative AI models. Institutions have the authority to manage Gemini access within their own domains.
Standard consumer privacy terms remain in effect for personal accounts. Google continues to strengthen integration between Gemini and services like Classroom and Drive.
Student Center is planned to be coming to school accounts in the coming weeks. How do you think this 1-year free AI Plus subscription offered to students will affect academic success?
