Google Health Data Can Now Sync with Apple Health

Google Health Data Can Now Sync with Apple Health

With the Google Health 5.05 update, Fitbit data can now be synchronized with the Apple Health app. Check out the new features and details.

The Google Health app has received a valuable update for those using the Apple ecosystem. Version 5.05 of the app allows iOS users to sync data from Fitbit devices directly with the Apple Health app.

Thanks to this new feature, iPhone users can track fitness data from devices like Fitbit Air through Apple Health without having to constantly log into Google’s software. The update makes it easier to transfer key metrics, such as daily step count and sleep data, to the Apple Health platform.

Data Synchronization and Limitations

User posts on Reddit indicate that many different metrics have become compatible with Apple Health with the new version of the Google Health app. However, this integration also comes with some limitations.

Users are reporting that heart rate variability (HRV) data is not being transferred from Google Health to the Apple Health app. This is said to be due to Google and Apple using different techniques when calculating HRV data.

This deficiency may be valuable for users who conduct detailed cardiovascular health analyses. However, for those who want to gather their basic information on Apple Health, this update offers a solution that reduces the frequency of opening the Google Health app.

Data Sharing with Doctors

Google Health version 5.05 is not limited to Apple Health integration only. The update also expands the ability for users in the United States to share health data with doctors.

Thanks to the Smart Health Links feature, users can easily share the health information they are tracking with their doctors. This feature is available on both Android and iOS platforms.

Google Health app version 5.05 is currently available for download on both the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store. How do you think this integration of Google Health with Apple Health will change the experience for Fitbit users?
