Gemini’s New Video Model Omni Revealed

Gemini’s New Video Model Omni Revealed

Google started testing Omni, its new video production model developed for the Gemini platform. Here are the prominent details about the new model.

Google introduces Omni, its new video production model developed for the Gemini platform. Although no official announcement has been made yet, the first results offered by the model look quite remarkable.

Video production continues to be one of the most interesting yet controversial areas of productive technologies today. While Google has been using the Veo model for video production so far, it is now preparing for a new process with Gemini Omni.

Video production with Gemini Omni

Some Gemini users encountered a prompt on the chat screen saying “Create with Gemini Omni”. Google defines this new model with features such as editing videos, making changes directly in the chat and using templates.

Metadata data shows that the Omni model is an extension of existing Veo technology. In the first examples shared, a scene in which a professor writes trigonometric equations on the blackboard was created quite realistically.

In another example, a scene was requested where two people were eating spaghetti at a beachside restaurant. This scene is a reference to the “human eating spaghetti” test, which has become a classic in the world of artificial intelligence.

The results show a very successful performance in processing visual details. Although some minor technical faults are noticeable in the videos, the overall output quality appears to be quite high.

Usage limits and future plans

With the new model, users also see a “usage” tab. This tab shows that trials with Gemini Omni consumed 86% of the daily usage limit on the AI Pro plan.

Google has already made clear its intention to introduce more specific usage limits for Gemini in the near future. The company emphasized its commitment to video technology after OpenAI terminated the Sora model, saying “video is permanent in our lives.”

Google is expected to share more details about this new model at the I/O 2026 event that will take place soon. The company’s strategy in video production and its integration with Gemini are followed with curiosity in the technology world.

How do you think Google’s new video production model, Omni, will fare against its current competitors?
