The expectation that Samsung will increase the battery capacity in the new Galaxy Z Fold 8 series has become official with a new report. This report reveals the battery capacities of foldable phones and improvements in battery life.

Both Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Fold 8 Ultra models promise a significant increase in battery life compared to the previous generation, Z Fold 7. According to EPREL data, the European Energy Labeling Product Database, these new devices take a significant step forward in power efficiency.

Battery Capacities of New Models

According to EPREL records, the standard Galaxy Z Fold 8 model offers a battery life of 49 hours and 10 minutes. The Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra model increases this time to 51 hours, making it the device with the longest-lasting battery performance in the series.

EPREL, the official product database of the European Union, has been applying standardized tests for smartphones since 2025. These tests cover basic metrics of devices such as battery life, power efficiency, repairability and drop resistance.

Contrary to manufacturers’ claims that focus only on video playback times, EPREL data is based on real usage scenarios. This testing methodology; It includes a mix of daily activities such as surfing the internet, watching videos, playing games, voice calling and messaging.

Testing each device using the same protocol provides a solid basis for comparing the battery life of different smartphones. In light of this data, it seems that Galaxy Z Fold 8 comes with a battery capacity of 4800 mAh.

The Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra model is equipped with a battery with a capacity of 5000 mAh. These capacity increases allow devices to remain effective for longer in daily use.

Performance Increase and Expectations

When the shared numbers are examined, it is seen that the Galaxy Z Fold 8 gains a battery endurance of approximately 9 hours compared to the previous generation Fold 7. This means that there is an improvement of more than 20 percent in the battery life of the device.
