Forza Horizon 6, developed by Playground Games, achieved great commercial success in a short time after its release. According to a new report shared by Alinea Analytics, the game reached sales of approximately 5 million units and gross revenue of $325 million in its first week.
The game became available at the end of last week for Premium Edition owners and at the beginning of this week for other players. Although it is added directly to the library for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers, the sales numbers of the game remain at quite high levels.
Sales numbers and platform distribution
According to the information in the report, 42 percent of total sales were made through the Xbox platform. While approximately 2.8 million units were sold on the Steam platform, this number remained around 2.1 million on the Xbox side.
In addition to sales, there are approximately 3 million more players logging into the game via Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. Playground Games had previously announced that the game had reached more than 6 million players in total.
Received full marks from critics
Forza Horizon 6 continues the success of the previous games in the series by receiving 91 points on Metacritic. The game is considered to have the best map of the series and represents the pinnacle of the racing genre.
Playground Games has previously confirmed that its next big project, Fable, will be released in 2026. It is eagerly awaited whether the studio will achieve similar success with this new production.
