Ferrari is sending its first electric model, Luce, to Euro NCAP crash tests. All the details about the 2 million euro testing process are in our news.
Italian car manufacturer Ferrari broke new ground and decided to send its vehicles to Euro NCAP crash tests. The brand has not included any of the models it has developed since its establishment in the strong testing processes of an independent security organization.
This tradition ends with the recently introduced Luce, the first electric Ferrari model. Ferrari has preferred to avoid these tests until now due to high costs and the image of the brand.
2 million euro investment for security tests
Euro NCAP’s extensive testing program requires manufacturers to sacrifice a certain number of cars to use their vehicles in crash tests. At least four Luce models, each with a price tag of over 500 thousand euros, are planned to be used in this process.
These vehicles, which cost a total of 2 million euros in sales, are sacrificed to prove safety standards. This breakthrough positions the Luce model as the most valuable car ever tested by Euro NCAP.
Family-oriented design and battery safety
The basis of Ferrari’s decision to undertake this costly process is the target audience and intended use of the Luce model. The car, which has a five-door and five-seat design, was developed as a family vehicle suitable for daily use.

The inclusion of Isofix child seat mounts on the rear seats reveals the brand’s new priorities in terms of safety. The high safety standards that wealthy families seek when taking their children to school are now Ferrari’s main focus.
The testing process will not only be limited to measuring the physical durability of the vehicle. Euro NCAP experts will also examine in detail the battery pack, the most critical component of electric cars.
Whether or not the huge battery system catches fire in the event of a collision is of great importance for the safety of both the vehicle occupants and emergency response groups. What do you think about this safety move by Ferrari?
