Fast and Furious is Becoming a TV Series

Fast and Furious is Becoming a TV Series

Vin Diesel announced that the Fast and Furious series will be brought to television screens with new series projects prepared for the Peacock platform.

Fast & Furious proves that it does not intend to say goodbye to the screens as it prepares to complete its journey on the big screen. Vin Diesel, the leading actor and producer of the series, made a statement that excited the fans and announced that new series projects that will expand the universe of the series are on the way. These projects, which will be implemented in cooperation with Universal Pictures and the Peacock platform, bring the “family” bond to digital platforms by focusing on the history and side stories of the characters we have been following in the cinema for years.

  • Vin Diesel officially confirmed at the NBCUniversal Upfront presentation that Fast and Furious series are in preparation for the Peacock platform.

  • While the main film series is preparing to come to an end with “Fast Forever”, which will be released in 2028, television projects ensure the continuity of the universe.

  • While experienced names such as Mike Daniels and Wolfe Coleman are in the kitchen of the projects, the stories are expected to delve into the depths of legendary characters.

Fast and Furious Universe Expands with Peacock

Vin Diesel takes the stage at the NBCUniversal presentation in New York and shares details that excite car enthusiasts and action lovers. Diesel states that fans have been waiting for this universe to be brought to television for ten years, and that this step was taken with the combination of the right time and the right management.

Especially with the vision of Universal Chairman Donna Langley, an environment is being created in which the integrity of the characters and the international appeal of the series will be preserved.

According to Diesel’s statements, although four different projects to be broadcast on Peacock are on the agenda, industry sources confirm that a live-action series is currently under active development.

It is estimated that other projects are at the scenario and idea stage. This move is seen as the biggest link in Universal’s strategy to transform successful cinema brands such as “Ted” and “Chucky” into a series format.

Strong Staff Behind the Camera

At the helm of the new series project are names who are no strangers to the world of action and drama. Mike Daniels, known for “Sons of Anarchy” and Wolfe Coleman from the TV series “Shades of Blue” serve as executive producers and screenwriters of the project.

As always, Vin Diesel continues to preserve the spirit of the series by sitting in the producer’s chair. The inclusion of names from the core cast of the series, such as Neal Moritz and Chris Morgan, in the project signals that the cinematic quality will be preserved.

There is no official statement yet about the plot of the series. However, there is talk among fans that there will be a prequel story that goes back to the origins of the series, or “spinoff” productions that tell the adventures of popular side characters. Especially based on the past scenes in the F9 movie, it seems very likely that the story of young Dominic Toretto and his family will be told.

Finale in Cinemas, New Beginning on Screens

The Fast and the Furious series has made its mark in cinema history by earning more than 7 billion dollars in box office revenue worldwide so far. However, it seems like the end of the road for the main story.

“Fast Forever”, the 11th and last movie of the series, meets the audience on March 17, 2028. This final movie, directed by Louis Leterrier, aims to end the legend by continuing where Fast X left off.

It is of strategic importance for Universal that the Fast and Furious brand continues to live after this grand finale in the cinema. The series, which entered the world of television with the “Spy Racers” animated series previously broadcast on Netflix, is preparing to offer a more mature and high-action experience with its live action series this time. Diesel describes this transition as “an expansion that fans have wanted and deserved for a decade.”
