DJI Osmo 360 II Leaked: Bigger Battery and NFC Support Coming

DJI Osmo 360 II Leaked: Bigger Battery and NFC Support Coming

DJI Osmo 360 II prototype leaked. The release date and all the features of the new generation 360 degree camera, which comes with a larger battery and NFC support, are in our news.

Competition in the action camera market is heating up day by day, especially with the innovative moves of ambitious brands such as Insta360 and GoPro. DJI, on the other hand, plans to increase its power and market share in the 360-degree camera segment with its new generation model.

The technology giant, which made a big impact and set high resolution standards with its first 360-degree camera launched last year, is now working intensively on its follow-up model, DJI Osmo 360 II.

A new leak shared by TheNewCamera reveals the engineering prototype and FCC (Federal Communications Commission) records of the device, listed with the model number “OQ002”.

The resulting official certification documents and field test images clearly show that the device will remain faithful to the first generation in its design language, but will offer very important upgrades in terms of battery capacity and communication technologies such as NFC.

Design Line is Preserved, Hardware is Strengthened

Leaked prototype images and production line leaks reveal that the DJI Osmo 360 II model is physically very similar to the brand new version. The device continues to maintain its square body structure and compact dual-lens array, which is durable against harsh natural conditions. But the real revolution occurs in the internal hardware of the device and its power efficiency.

The new action camera, which has been approved in the FCC database, implements one of the most requested improvements by professional users. The battery capacity, which was 1,950 mAh in the first generation, increases to 2,150 mAh in the new model.

Considering how high-resolution 360-degree image recording strains the sensors and consumes high power, this capacity increase is of great importance. The renewed battery promises content creators a much longer, uninterrupted recording experience without having to take charging breaks in the field or looking for a spare battery.

Full Control from Smartphone with NFC Support

One of the most innovative and life-saving features of the new DJI Osmo 360 II model on the hardware side is NFC (Near Field Communication) support.

This technology is still not included in the hardware of many high-end panoramic action cameras on the market today. Thanks to the newly added NFC chip, users can pair their cameras with their smartphones without any problems within seconds by just gently touching them.

This technological touch not only enables fast communication, but also makes the wireless transfer of 360-degree image documents and high-resolution photos, which take up gigabytes of space, to the device much more practical and reliable.

What Did the First Generation DJI Osmo 360 Offer?

In order to better understand why the new model is so exciting for the market, it is necessary to briefly look at the superior features offered by the first device of the series. DJI released the first member of the Osmo 360 series in July 2025.

This model showed incredible performance even in low light conditions thanks to its 1-inch large sensor, which made a difference in its class, and could shoot panoramic images at 50 frames per second (50fps) at 8K resolution without cropping. It also raised the bar quite high in the department with its ability to capture magnificent 360-degree photos with up to 120 megapixel resolution.

According to leaks, some sources claim that the Osmo 360 II model can increase the image frame rate to 60fps at 8K resolution. Building on this durable foundation established by the first generation, DJI Osmo 360 II aims to be a complete device for both professionals and amateur adventure enthusiasts.

When is the Release Date?

An official launch date has not yet been announced by DJI regarding when the new device will be released. However, when the company’s past product promotion strategies are carefully examined, it appears that the device will be with us very soon.

The first camera of the series also appeared in FCC records just a few months before its official introduction and took its place on the shelves a short time later. Currently, not only official certification documents but also field test images of the device in real world conditions are leaking to the press.

All these stages show that the technical development process of the product is over, software optimizations are in the final stage and mass production is very close. The official announcement is expected to be made shortly.
