DeepSeek Doubles Its Staff

DeepSeek Doubles Its Staff

DeepSeek announced that it will double the number of workers in all its departments to achieve its goal of artificial general intelligence (AGI).

DeepSeek, a China-based artificial intelligence initiative, announced that it has launched a major recruitment campaign to achieve the goal of artificial general intelligence (AGI). The company announced that it plans to at least double the number of employees in all its departments.

Founded just three years ago, the company emphasized its commitment to this goal by using the phrase “Humanity now stands on the threshold of AGI.” DeepSeek, which recently completed its first type of foreign investment, has raised approximately $7.4 billion in funding with a valuation of over $50 billion.

Major Hiring Drive and Strategic Change

The company defines its recruitment ideology as allowing newcomers to directly undertake the most basic and valuable missions. This approach shows that the company wants to recruit not only experienced experts but also talents from different levels.

DeepSeek; is actively seeking workers for server-side development engineers, pre-training knowledge engineers, and great computer cluster R&D engineers. In addition, new product management positions reveal that the company is turning to developing customer-focused products rather than focusing only on research.

The company is experiencing difficulties in accessing Nvidia’s latest generation hardware due to restrictions imposed by the USA. Collaborating with Huawei to overcome these restrictions, DeepSeek optimizes its models to run efficiently on this partner’s chips.

Growth and Competition in the Global Market

DeepSeek’s models stand out because they are more affordable than the options offered by US-based Competitors such as OpenAI, Anthropic and Google. It is known that many US companies prefer DeepSeek models due to their cost advantage.

The recruitment process is expected to be heavily concentrated at the headquarters in Hangzhou and the R&D facility in Beijing. However, as global interest increases, there is a possibility that the company will expand its presence outside China.

What do you think about DeepSeek’s aggressive growth strategy towards artificial general intelligence?
