Are MacBook Pro Users Upset: Is M6 Being Delayed?

Are MacBook Pro Users Upset: Is M6 Being Delayed?

It is claimed that Apple will skip the M6 Pro and M6 Max processors and focus on the M7 series in 2027. Here are the latest developments in the MacBook Pro series.

Apple faces a new uncertainty for its users following the price increases in its MacBook product range. According to the information shared by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the company may skip the M6 Pro and M6 Max processors altogether in the MacBook Pro models it plans to launch this year.

If this strategy change occurs, the M6 series will remain limited to the entry-level processor only and high-end options for professional users will not be offered. It is claimed that Apple will not release the new generation Pro and Max processors until 2027.

A long wait for professional users

Considering that the current M5 Pro and M5 Max processor-powered models are introduced in spring 2026, a new hardware update for professional users indicates a gap of approximately 18 months. This decision by Apple directly affects the upgrade plans of users who especially need high-performance devices.

On the other hand, the outcome of the highly anticipated MacBook Ultra model, which is said to have a thinner design with an OLED screen, remains unclear. While some sources state that this device may arrive this year with the M5 Ultra processor, other possibilities are that the model may be postponed to 2027 with the M7 series.

Artificial intelligence-driven technology strategy

Behind Apple’s postponement decision lies the aim of strengthening in-device artificial intelligence capabilities and graphics-intensive software. It is stated that the company chose this path in order to more quickly integrate the new technologies it plans for professional users.

MacBook Pro models with entry-level M6 processors will continue to meet users in the planned autumn calendar. However, these models are expected to be offered for sale at prices starting from $ 1,999, with the recently announced price increases.

What do you think about this possible delay and price increases in Apple’s professional processor series?
