Cursor, known for its AI-powered coding tool, has officially joined SpaceX. The acquisition agreement between the companies was announced in June, and it is stated that the collaboration began in April with the aim of training AI models.

With this acquisition, SpaceX’s extensive AI infrastructure is being made available to Cursor. Cursor announced that this agreement will give it access to the world’s largest GPU fleet.

Infrastructure and Strategic Merger

This new infrastructure is expected to help the company develop more advanced AI models and offer them to its customers at lower costs. SpaceX reportedly paid $60 billion for this acquisition.

This development occurred following the merger of Elon Musk’s AI company xAI with SpaceX. After the merger, xAI took the name SpaceXAI and expanded its AI investments to a broader structure.

New Models and Future Goals

Following the new structure, SpaceXAI and Cursor announced Grok 4.5, their first jointly developed model. This model aims to achieve high performance in coding and missions carried out by AI spies.

The companies emphasize that Grok 4.5 can produce results at a lower cost compared to previous solutions. Grok 4.6, which was subsequently released, focuses not only on code generation but also on performing complex real-world tasks.
