With the Crimson Desert 1.06 update, the ability to mount wild animals such as bears and lions, the material recovery system and the Night Tone Mode were added to the game.
Developed by Pearl Abyss and making a rapid entry into the game world on March 19, 2026, Crimson Desert offers brand new mechanics to players with the 1.06 update released. This massive update, which makes the adventure in the world of Pywel deeper and more free, changes the basic building blocks of the game, from the mount system to equipment development.
The new mount system, which allows taming predators in the wild, completely renews players’ strategies. In addition, the Disassembly system, which allows you to recover previously spent valuable materials, is also included in the game with this patch.
The Wilderness Is Now Your Mount: Special Mount System
The most striking feature of Crimson Desert’s 1.06 update is undoubtedly the “Special Mount” system. Pearl Abyss stops limiting the concept of mounts to horses and puts Pywel’s wild nature at the disposal of players. Now you can gain the trust of the animals you encounter in the game world, such as bears, wolves, deer, camels, lions and even tigers, and ride them.
This system is not just a visual change; Each animal has its own inventory tab. You can also personalize these wild mounts with special saddles available from saddlers in the region and benefit from them in different ways on the battlefield. For example, the endurance of a bear and the speed of a tiger directly affect your approach to tasks.
New Era in Equipment Development: Disassembly System
The equipment strengthening process, where players spend the most time, becomes much more flexible with the 1.06 patch. The “Extraction” feature added to blacksmiths in cities allows you to get back the materials you previously spent to improve your equipment.
Thanks to this system, while reducing the development level of an item, you can save materials without destroying that item.
According to the data, while special materials are recycled at a 100% rate, this rate is around 70% for common materials. This means players can easily transfer work from their old equipment for a stronger sword or armor they just found.
In addition, thanks to the new item called Sigil of Valor, you can increase your support in battles by enabling the pet dogs with you to attack enemies.
Visual Improvements and Night Tone Mode
Crimson Desert, which has made a name for itself with its graphic quality, does not remain idle on the visual side either. The newly added Night Tone Mode is designed especially for those who want to reduce eye fatigue and achieve a more natural image during night tasks. When this mode is activated, the shadows become brighter and the lighting takes on a softer tone.
HDR support and improvements made to the rendering engine, especially for Mac users, take the game’s performance in the Apple ecosystem to the next level. Rendering problems experienced in wide screen resolutions and crash errors related to Frame Generation technology are also completely resolved with this update.
User Experience and Bug Fixes
Update 1.06 not only adds content, but also makes the game’s interface (UI) and controls smoother. Shortcuts such as Clear All, Smash All and Get All Seeds added to inventory management reduce the time players spend in menus. In addition, user-friendly features such as fishing guide and skill search function are also included in the system.
Taking into account feedback from the community, Pearl Abyss also resolves inconsistent damage issues in boss battles and bugs that hinder mission progression. This patch, available simultaneously on PC, macOS, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S platforms, is described as a giant step towards making the world of Crimson Desert one of the most stable and rich RPG experiences of 2026.
