Journalist Emre Özpeynirci, who follows the automotive industry data closely, shared with the public the best-selling new car models in Turkey in May. According to the current information announced, the dominance of the Renault brand in consumers’ preferences continued in May. While Renault Clio was at the top of the list with sales of 3,970 units, it was followed by Renault Megane and the new generation Renault Duster models, respectively. While the dynamics of the market showed that consumers’ interest in economical and durable models continued, it was noteworthy that domestically produced models such as Togg T10X maintained their place in the top ten.

Renault Models Succeeded in Defending Market Leadership

Renault’s influence on the Turkish car market was reflected at the top of the sales lists in May. While Renault Clio maintained its title as the best-selling car in the market, Renault Megane ranked second with 2,677 units and Renault Duster ranked third with 2,400 units. These results once again proved the brand’s strong position in the Turkish market and its belief in its wide model range.

The Renault brand took the first three places and left its market leadership to no one in May.

Electric Vehicles Secure Their Place on the List

Togg T10X, which has an important place in the electric vehicle segment, continued to remain among the top ten best-selling cars in Turkey with sales of 1,832 units. The increasing interest of consumers in electric transportation solutions supports Togg’s place on the list. On the other hand, models such as Toyota Corolla and Volkswagen Taigo managed to maintain their sales volumes thanks to their competitive pricing in their segments.

Further down the list, Hyundai i20 ranks seventh with 1,875 units, and Nissan Qashqai ranks eighth with 1,871 units. Hyundai Bayon was the last model to enter the top ten with sales of 1,722 units. Although it is observed that the sales volumes of some models have decreased compared to the April information, the general picture reveals the loyalty of consumers to certain brands.

Togg T10X continues to be one of the most preferred models in the market in the electric vehicles category.

Sales Mobility in the Sector is Watched Carefully

These changes in the automotive market are directly linked to economic indicators and credit opportunities. It is understood from the information that some models, which reached higher sales volumes especially in April, lost some momentum in May. However, it seems that the desire to own a car has always been strong in the Turkish market and the campaign processes of the brands directly affect this situation.
