Bentley has officially unveiled its long-awaited first fully electric model, the Bentley Torcal electric SUV. Built on the Porsche PPE architecture of the Volkswagen Group, this new model brings the brand’s classic design language to the electric world. The five-meter-long vehicle has a slightly shorter body than the Bentayga model. Featuring design elements from the EXP 15 Concept Car, the Torcal stands out with its illuminated front grille and powerful contours.

Performance and Technical Details

Thanks to its dual-motor configuration, the Torcal holds the title of being the most powerful car the brand has ever produced. The top-of-the-range S version produces a total of 876 horsepower.

The 113 kWh battery pack offers a range of 375 miles on a single charge. This range allows Bentley to position the vehicle as a suitable option for daily use throughout the year.

In terms of charging technology, fast charging support up to 400 kW stands out. Thanks to this feature, the battery can reach 80% charge from 10% in less than 20 minutes.

The basic chassis, suspension and powertrain of the Torcal model consist of components shared with Porsche. Despite this partnership, Bentley emphasizes that the vehicle’s design fully reflects its own DNA.

Bentley’s New Sound World

To compensate for the lack of engine sound in electric vehicles, Bentley has developed a special sound system called “Bentley Dynamic Symphony.” This system provides feedback to the driver using recordings of real instruments such as drums, viola, and bass guitar.

The system changes the intensity of the sound as the engine cycle increases, making it more noticeable to the driver, and becomes more pronounced in Sport mode. In addition, the turn signal sound in the vehicle is inspired by the hammer sounds used during the leather processing in the Bentley workshop.

Inside, the classic Bentley texture is maintained by preserving the physical buttons and dials. The Comfort Mode on the infotainment screen reduces distractions for the driver, while the digital detox option hides unnecessary information on the screens.

The starting price for the Torcal model is £173,300, while the more powerful Torcal S version is priced at £199,300. The first deliveries are planned for the summer of 2027.
