Balance Adjustment from Google to Gemini: Limits Adjusted

Balance Adjustment from Google to Gemini: Limits Adjusted

Google updated the usage limits in the Gemini application following complaints. Details about the new regulations and quota system are here.

Google rearranged the Gemini application usage limits, announced at the I/O 2026 event, in line with heavy feedback from users. The company announced that it would follow a new strategy, especially taking into account the complaints about the limits being filled too quickly.

The new calculation-based system implemented is based on the complexity of the prompts, the tools used and the length of the conversation. It is stated that easy text requests consume much less processing power than complex processes such as image or coding.

New Era in Gemini Usage Limits

Gemini leader Josh Woodward announced that the quota size that a single customer can use on the Gemini 3.1 Pro model has been terminated. This breakthrough aims to prevent complex commands containing large documents from quickly consuming user limits.

Google has clearly stated that incorrect processes will no longer be deducted from the user quota. It was stated that system errors will not be reflected to the user and only successfully completed processes will be deducted from the quota.

It was also announced that in the future, users will be able to purchase additional artificial intelligence credits via the pay-as-you-go system if they need it. More detailed usage logs and notifications will be provided for tasks that require high processing power, such as Deep Research.

Currently, only a general summary can be seen through the gemini.google.com/usage panel. By making this panel more detailed, Google aims to help users use their limits more efficiently.

Flash-Lite Model and Omni Updates

Within the scope of the updates, requests for the 3.1 Flash-Lite model are now free of charge and are not included in the user quota. When users choose a model, the system remembers this choice for subsequent sessions.

The model selection is updated only when the user changes it manually or when an automatic backup is triggered. In addition, a bug experienced by some users that caused Omni images to quickly consume quotas was also fixed.

Omni production count doubled for Google AI Ultra users. The company states that it will continue its work to increase capacity in this field.
