Artificial Intelligence Era in Nokia’s Push-button Phones

Artificial Intelligence Era in Nokia’s Push-button Phones

Nokia’s new push-button phone models attract attention with the artificial intelligence button on them. Here are the features and details of the new Nokia phones.

HMD, owner of the Nokia brand, attracted attention by announcing four new push-button phone models. This new series, consisting of Nokia 210 4G, Nokia 215 4G 2nd Generation, Nokia 235 4G 2nd Generation and Nokia 200 4G models, aims to bring together contemporary technologies and classic design approach.

These new devices include popular features of the past, such as 3.5 mm headphone jack and microSD card support. All models except Nokia 200 4G also have FM radio support.

Artificial intelligence button and usage details

The most striking and controversial feature of the new series is a special artificial intelligence button placed on the front of the devices. This button, which works with an application called Sikey AI, allows users to perform basic tasks such as making a call or turning on the flashlight.

According to the information shared by Nokia, this system also supports processes such as setting alarms, starting the camera and adding reminders. It can also answer basic questions, such as creating easy food definitions or providing example sentences in a foreign language.

This artificial intelligence assistant offered by the devices is offered to users free of charge for the first 180 days. After this period, it is not yet clear how much the service will be priced or how the subscription model will work.

Phones that enable video calls and voice messaging via the Xpress Chat platform aim to go beyond basic features. However, no official statement has been made yet about the sales prices of the devices and in which markets they will be available.

Reactions from users

Users who prefer the simplicity of push-button phones are quite distant from this new artificial intelligence button. Especially on social media platforms, criticisms are rising that this feature is unnecessary and does not match the expectations of push-button phone users.

Some users describe this addition as a breakthrough that is cumbersome and disconnected from the brand’s target audience. What do you think about these new phones from Nokia?
