Acer Unveils Portable Gaming Device

Acer Unveils Portable Gaming Device

Acer introduced Nitro Blaze Link, its new Linux-based portable device developed to stream PC games. Here are all the features of the device.

Acer introduced the portable gaming device called Nitro Blaze Link, which aims to bring a new breath to the gaming world. The company describes this new device as an auxiliary hardware focused on streaming PC games rather than a classic portable gaming computer.

The device, which runs on the Linux operating system, focuses on cloud-based or local network streaming rather than running local games with its hardware features. The technical details of the device make it clear that it is designed as a streaming tool rather than running games directly on itself.

Nitro Blaze Link technical specifications and intended use

Acer Nitro Blaze Link is preparing to meet users in the fourth quarter of 2026. The device is equipped with a 7-inch screen with a resolution of 1920 x 1200.

Offering Wi-Fi 6 support on the connection side, the device comes with 1GB LPDDR4 RAM and 8GB eMMC storage. These technical specifications show that it is not possible for the device to run games locally. Acer Nitro Blaze Link, is basically positioned as the equivalent of PlayStation Portal in the PC world.

Market position and price expectation

The G Cloud device, previously released by Logitech, appeared before users with the Android operating system and a similar broadcast-oriented structure. However, Logitech’s $350 price tag was found high by consumers for a device dependent on internet contact.

Acer has not yet announced an official price for the Nitro Blaze Link. Still, the modest hardware features of the device make us think that it may be a more accessible option compared to portable gaming computers, whose prices are increasing day by day.

Nitro Blaze LinkRather than high-performance gaming computers, it targets users who are looking for a gaming experience only through streaming.

It is a matter of curiosity how the competition in the portable gaming market will take shape when the device hits the market at the end of 2026. Especially in regions where the internet infrastructure is sufficient for broadcast streaming, such devices are expected to attract more attention.

This strategy of Acer has the potential to offer gamers a more affordable alternative.

Do you think this style of portable devices, which focus only on streaming, can gain a permanent place in the gaming world?
