With Claude integration, 1Password has launched a reliable system that allows users to perform transactions through artificial intelligence without sharing their identity information.
1Password has announced a new feature that allows users to make transactions on Claude without sharing their login information with Anthropic’s artificial intelligence models. This integration, called 1Password for Claude, offers a structure that prevents private information from reaching the model’s memory or Anthropic servers.
Users can now perform real-world tasks such as travel reservations or account management without providing their identity information directly to artificial intelligence. 1Password states that in this process, information is directly injected into the intended system and the model does not have access to this information.
Zero exposure safety framework
1Password uses a zero-exposure security framework it developed specifically for this new feature. Thanks to this system, access permission is limited to the relevant session only and no information is shared other than reasonable items that are approved.
Passwords and single-use MFA codes are transferred to the system through a secure channel managed by 1Password. This method enables processes to be completed in multi-step workflows without the user having to re-authenticate at each stage.
1Password, automatically locks the system when an artificial intelligence agent takes control over the browser. This locking mechanism ensures that access is limited only to credentials approved for the current task. In addition, after each autofill process, the pages are scanned to ensure that no unknown information is left exposed.
Comprehensive protection with new Agentic Mode
With the Claude integration, 1Password also introduced the Agentic Mode feature for all its users. This mode activates when it detects an active artificial intelligence representative and protects the identity information. Users can directly monitor whether this security feature is enabled via the 1Password browser extension.
This system, which currently works only with Claude, is planned to be compatible with other artificial intelligence representatives in the future. 1Password for Claude is currently available on Mac for users with business, family and personal plans.
In order to use this feature, users must have the Claude desktop application and browser extensions as well as the 1Password desktop application and browser extensions.
It is aimed to provide support for payment cards and identity details in the future. What do you think about this new security integration?
