YouTube announced that it has started testing the ‘Ask YouTube’ tool, a new artificial intelligence-based search feature that aims to radically change the user experience. This innovative project, launched within YouTube Labs, is now available to YouTube Premium subscribers in the USA.

Unlike traditional keyword-based searches, this system allows users to ask complex questions in natural language and produces personalized answers by blending video and text content.

This testing process, planned to continue until June 8, aims to transform the platform’s search engine capabilities into a chat interface.

YouTube User Experience Takes to a New Dimension

The new search interface allows users to not only find videos but also get in-depth information about specific topics.

For example, when planning a trip or searching for a technical recipe, the system provides both a written summary and shows relevant video content by dividing it into certain segments. This approach eliminates the need for users to watch entire videos to find the information they are looking for.

Artificial intelligence integration enables YouTube to become not just a video platform but also an intelligent source of information.

YouTube Labs Supports Other Projects

Apart from ‘Ask YouTube’, YouTube also includes different artificial intelligence projects. The Beyond the Beat feature improves the music listening experience, while the VibeCheck tool offers suggestions to content creators before publishing their Shorts videos. The company aims to increase the interaction capacity of the platform with such experimental features.

The platform will collect user feedback and decide whether these technologies will be made available for general use in the future. The global spread of these features, which are currently only active in the USA, is eagerly awaited.
