Spotify announced its new artificial intelligence application Studio, which produces personalized daily summaries and podcasts. Here are the new features.
Spotify has introduced its new standalone app, Studio by Spotify Labs, which allows users to create daily digests, podcasts and playlists. This application, which can be accessed via computer, produces personalized content with the commands given by users.
The application uses the user’s Spotify listening history as well as information from connected applications such as email, calendar and notes. Studio also supports the user in doing research, organizing information and completing various missions via the web browser.
Personalized content production
Daily summaries and podcasts created with Studio can be saved directly to the Spotify library. The app will be available as an exploratory preview for users 18 and over in the coming weeks.
In addition to Studio, Spotify is also rolling out new podcast features for Premium users. A chatbot launched today can answer questions about podcast episodes listened to and find timestamps for certain bets.
The company also allows content produced by OpenClaw and Claude to be saved in the library. Next month, the Personal Podcasts feature, where users can create podcast episodes by giving commands directly from the Spotify application, will be implemented.
Competition and user experience
Platforms such as Google NotebookLM, Amazon Alexa Plus and Microsoft Edge also offer similar solutions for artificial intelligence-supported podcast production. Unlike these applications, Spotify integrates these new tools directly into its platform because it already offers an audio-focused experience to its users.
Spotify states that the Studio app is not designed to produce music, but only to create daily digests, podcasts and playlists. The company aims to enable users to produce content suitable for their morning routine directly within the application.
