Android 17 QPR2 Beta 4 Released: Here’s All the New Features

We have examined in detail the new features and bug fixes that came with the Android 17 QPR2 Beta 4 update.

The Android 17 QPR2 Beta 4 update has been released to users ahead of the stable release in December. This new version fixes various bugs in the operating system while providing system-wide performance improvements.

Google aims to make the user experience smoother by focusing on platform stability with this release. Android 17 QPR2 Beta 4 includes important fixes for Pixel series devices.

New Features and System Improvements

Updates to Private Compute Core make the device’s reliable environment more efficient. This private area allows features such as Now Playing, Smart Reply, Live Translate, and Live Caption to run more stably in the background.

In addition, new tools for managing notification summaries and new badges for wallpaper customizations have been added to the system. Status bar customizations have also been expanded with this release.

The update also includes support preparations for Pixel 11, 11 Pro, 11 Pro XL, and 11 Pro Fold models. Although the build for these devices is not yet generally available, it is officially stated that it will be released soon.

A wide range of devices, including Pixel 6a, 7, 8, and 9 series, support this beta version. Users can install the update by following the step-by-step installation guides for their compatible devices.

This release aims to completely eliminate overheating and unexpected restart problems in devices. The transparent status bar issue, especially after full-screen playback, has also been resolved with this update.

Connection problems experienced with USB-C XR glasses during screen mirroring have been fixed. In addition, excessive charging times during 80% battery end optimization have been corrected, improving battery management.

The problem of text input not being processed when searching in the app drawer is also a thing of the past. The blur effect that disappeared behind the navigation bar when the power menu was called up has also been brought back.

The error of audio being routed to the phone speaker instead of Bluetooth devices during phone calls has been corrected. Freezing and visual flickering issues experienced when switching between recent applications have also been resolved.

The audio service source lock issue that prevented microphone use during screen recording has been resolved. Animation inconsistencies when turning off the screen and low-contrast icon problems in dark mode have also been fixed.

The blank screen issue caused by activating 3D mode in smart glasses has been fixed. The UI bug that prevented the notification bar from being pulled down has also been resolved with this version.
