Xiaomi HyperOS 4 Introduced: Here Are the Key New Features

Xiaomi introduced its new visual and performance-focused operating system, HyperOS 4. Here are the new interface, AI features, and performance improvements.

Xiaomi has officially announced HyperOS 4, its next-generation operating system featuring visual and performance-focused improvements. Inspired by Apple’s Liquid Glass design philosophy, the new interface promises a faster and more intuitive user experience while increasing continuity across devices.

The new update comes with extensive optimizations to provide a smoother user experience across the system. Users will encounter a more dynamic and contemporary look across the interface with HyperOS 4.

New Features of HyperOS 4

HyperOS 4 initiates a significant visual change in the interface with its Soft Light Glass design language. This new language is notable for its translucent elements and lighting effects in areas such as Quick Settings, menus, widgets, and folders.

Lock screen customization options have also been expanded, allowing users to adjust the size and position of the clock. Notifications can now be managed in a more systematic way with the intelligent grouping feature.

Folder sizes can now be changed on the home screen using drag-and-drop, and switching between applications is smoother. With the development of Fusion Device Center, interaction between devices has become more stable.

Real-time interactive elements such as Inspiration Ball, Status Island, and Scan/QR Island aim to speed up user processes. Deep AI features integrated into system applications are supported by Super XiaoAi 2.0 Expert Mode.

Performance and AI-Focused Improvements

Xiaomi states that HyperOS 4 has been optimized to operate with lower memory usage compared to HyperOS 3. Thanks to the redesigned application working environment, frame rate drops are reduced by 28.9% during long periods of use.

AI is actively used to predict the resources that applications will need and allocate them to RAM. As a result, application loading speeds increase by up to 18% after nine hours of intensive use.

On the camera side, HDR image processing time is reduced from 310 milliseconds to 240 milliseconds. The camera application’s startup speed is also improved by 200 milliseconds, enabling faster photo taking.

The AI ​​assistant Super AI Assistant 2.0 simplifies processes such as voice transcription and note editing with the MiMo large language model. The Inspiration Ball feature allows users to quickly perform actions such as getting directions or searching for content on their selected material.

The recorder application can now automatically generate summaries and skip silent parts. The Super XiaoAI Input Method comes with real-time voice translation and structured transcription support.

The HyperOS 4 beta version will be released first in real time at the end of August for Xiaomi 17 series and REDMI K90 models. What do you think about these comprehensive visual and performance improvements brought by the new operating system?
