Xiaomi is preparing to release the new performance-oriented HyperOS 4 update next month. Here are the details about the AI and speed improvements brought by the new interface.
Xiaomi is preparing to release HyperOS 4 next month. According to reports from the technology world, this major update, planned to be introduced in August, offers fundamental changes to the current interface, advanced artificial intelligence integration and significant performance improvements.
Aiming to completely change the user experience of Xiaomi devices, the company aims to make the system architecture more fluid and efficient with this new version. The distribution process, which is expected to start especially with flagship models, marks the beginning of a new era in the company’s software strategy.
Performance and System Architecture are Renewed with HyperOS 4
HyperOS 4 rebuilds the software infrastructure from the ground up. By completely cleaning up the old MIUI codes, engineers created a much lighter and more stable structure based on the Rust programming language and Flutter framework. Thanks to these architectural changes, a 40 percent improvement in the overall fluidity of the system is anticipated.
In long-term use, the performance loss remains at only 5 percent.
Important steps have also been taken regarding memory management. The amount of memory consumed by idle processes was reduced by up to 30 percent, enabling more efficient use of hardware resources.
The retention capacity of background applications was increased by 35 percent, improving the multi-tasking experience.
New Design Language and Connection Features Introduced
Xiaomi introduces its new design language, called Liquid Glass, to users with HyperOS 4. This design approach has softened lines with 2.5D visuals and offers two different interface styles, “Transparent” and “Soft”, according to users’ preferences.
In addition, ecosystem communication between devices is taken to a completely different dimension.
Connectivity between smartphones, tablets, home appliances and vehicles is powered by a new unified AI compliance framework.
File transfer speeds have been increased by 300 percent compared to previous versions. In this way, transitions between devices and data sharing become much more fluid.
Artificial Intelligence Capabilities Develop Within the Device
One of the most striking aspects of the new update is that artificial intelligence models such as Mimo and Miclaw work directly on the device.
This system, which does not require an internet connection, performs processes such as document summarization, language translation and photo editing with much higher confidentiality standards and speed. This move by Xiaomi aims to protect user data locally by reducing dependence on cloud-based services.
HyperOS 4 is expected to debut first with the Xiaomi 18 series or new generation foldable models. Subsequently, a gradual update schedule will be applied for devices such as Xiaomi 17, Xiaomi 15 and Redmi K90 series. The technology world follows these innovations closely.
