Xiaomi HyperOS 4 Beta Testing Begins

Xiaomi HyperOS 4 Beta Testing Begins

Xiaomi has started the beta testing process for the HyperOS 4 update. Which models are included in the beta process are in our news.

Xiaomi has officially launched the beta testing process for the highly anticipated HyperOS 4 update for users worldwide and in the European Economic Area (EEA). Open to Xiaomi 17 Ultra, Xiaomi 17, and Leica Leitzphone by Xiaomi models, this program welcomes eager participants who want to try out the software’s new features early. The company specifically warns users that beta software may be unstable and pose a risk to everyday devices.

Users who wish to participate can fill out the registration form in the beta testing section by going to the “Me” tab in the Xiaomi Community application.

  • Xiaomi has started accepting beta testers globally for the HyperOS 4 update.
  • The program; Xiaomi 17, 17 Ultra and Leica Leitzphone are among the models included.
  • Participants need to complete the registration form via the Xiaomi Community app.
  • Manual firmware installation is required to revert from the beta version to the stable version.

Devices Included in the Beta Process Have Been Determined

This testing process initiated by Xiaomi initially covers flagship models. According to new information, the prominent devices of the Xiaomi 17 series and special phones produced in collaboration with Leica will receive the update in the first phase. While the company states that users accepted into the beta program will receive updates over-the-air (OTA), it reminds users that additional verification steps will be required via a Xiaomi account for some special versions.

Scope to be Expanded on September 17th

Exciting developments regarding HyperOS 4 will not be limited to just the first set of devices. Xiaomi plans to expand the test program to a wider user base on September 17th. From this date, the Xiaomi 17T, 17T Pro, 15, and 15 Ultra models will also be included in the beta program.

This expansion decision shows the brand’s desire to test the new interface optimizations on more hardware.

Manual Actions Required for System Reversal

One of the most important considerations for users is the process of reverting from the HyperOS 4 beta version to the stable HyperOS 3 version.

Xiaomi emphasizes that this process cannot be done with an automatic update and users will need to manually flash the firmware to their devices. This situation makes it mandatory for users to make necessary backups beforehand to avoid data loss. While the software development process continues, any bug reports will help the brand improve the quality of the software.
