Xiaomi has announced the new HyperOS 4 operating system with Liquid Glass design and Super AI Assistant 2.0 features. Here are all the details and the models that will be updated.
Xiaomi has officially introduced HyperOS 4, its new Android 17-based operating system. This major update aims to completely transform the user experience, includes both visual improvements and fundamental performance-focused changes.
The new version offers a more transparent and fluid interface with its Liquid Glass design language, while the Zero-Legacy architecture reduces system bloat, allowing devices to operate more efficiently. Xiaomi aims to offer its new generation AI-powered features and performance enhancements to a wide user base, initially through a beta process launched for the Xiaomi 17 and Redmi K90 series.
Visual Design and Performance Improvements
The Liquid Glass visual language that comes with HyperOS 4 allows users to arrange the elements on the screen as they wish. The control center, folders, and lock screen now have a more modern structure.
Users can optimize the interface to their needs by customizing widget sizes and placements. Application transitions and horizontal-vertical mode switching have been made much smoother than before.
System optimizations provide up to a 90% performance increase in gallery scrolling speed.
AI-Powered Features Expanded
Xiaomi’s Super AI Assistant 2.0, powered by the MiMo major license model, is at the heart of the system. The Inspiration Ball tool facilitates quick search and navigation actions on text or images on the screen.
The Super Island feature, located in the space around the front camera, provides real-time notifications to the user. In addition, capabilities such as automatic voice transcription and semantic search in photos become standard with this version.
Models That Will Receive HyperOS 4
Xiaomi announced that it will distribute HyperOS 4 in three different phases. Xiaomi’s flagship devices, including the 17 series and Redmi K90 Pro Max, will receive the update on August 14th. The Xiaomi 15 series and other Redmi K90 series models will be included on August 27th, while the Redmi K100 series and new generation tablet models will be added to the update list starting September 17th. Users can check if their devices are on these lists to track the process.
