Microsoft’s new Xbox Cloud Gaming controller that connects directly to cloud servers has been leaked. Here are the technical specifications and design of the device.
The new Xbox controller, developed by Microsoft specifically for cloud gaming services, appeared in the records of the Brazilian regulatory agency Anatel. Leaked images reveal that the device has a smaller design than existing Xbox controllers.
With its design language, the new controller is reminiscent of third-party options offered by brands such as 8BitDo and HyperX. Manufactured by Microsoft, this device is designed to connect directly to Xbox Cloud Gaming servers.
Technical Specifications and Design Details
The technical hardware of the device includes significant improvements to improve the gaming experience. In addition to 2.4GHz and 5GHz Wi-Fi connection support, the controller has Bluetooth 5.3 technology and a USB-C port.
While a pairing button on the top of the device draws attention in the images, the standard D-Pad, bumper keys and trigger mechanisms also remain in place. The controller, which is displayed in two different color options, white and black, offers its users an internal rechargeable battery with a capacity of 500mAh.
While the majority of existing Xbox controllers run on AA batteries or external rechargeable battery packs, the fact that this new model comes with an internal battery makes a significant difference. The main purpose of the device is to minimize latency by connecting directly to cloud servers, just like Google’s old Stadia controllers.
Part of Cloud Gaming Strategy
This new hardware was developed to support Microsoft’s comprehensive cloud gaming strategy through Game Pass. The company currently continues to test free and ad-supported access models for cloud games.

Developed independently of the Xbox Series Rumors in the industry indicate that Microsoft is preparing to launch the Xbox Elite Controller Series 3 model later this year.
