Apple is preparing to offer a comprehensive update for Siri with the iOS 27 and macOS Golden Gate updates. This major update will be offered to users under the name Siri AI and will be generally available in the fall.

Siri AI technology will only work on new generation Apple devices that meet reasonable hardware requirements. For users to benefit from this new experience, their devices need to be compatible with the new software and hardware standards.

Apple Products Supporting Siri AI

Devices offering Siri AI support include the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max, iPhone Air, iPhone 17, iPhone 17e, iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max, iPhone 16 and 16 Plus, iPhone 16e, and iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max models. On the iPad side, iPad Pro and iPad Air models with the M1 chip and later versions, and the iPad mini with the A17 Pro chip are included in this list.

On Mac computers, all models with the M1 chip and later Apple silicon processors are compatible with Siri AI. On the Apple Watch side, Series 9 and later models, Ultra 2 and later versions, and SE 3 can take advantage of this feature when paired with a compatible iPhone.

Apple Vision Pro users can also access this new Siri experience with all models. It is stated that future models, such as the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone Ultra, which have not yet been released, will also come with Siri AI support.

Hardware Limitations for Advanced Features

While basic Siri AI is supported, some advanced features, such as customizing the tone and power of speech, are only enabled on certain hardware. These special capabilities are available on iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max, and iPhone Air models.

In addition, iPad models with the M4 or newer chip and at least 12GB of combined memory also support these advanced customization options. On the Mac side, devices with M3 and above processors and at least 12GB of memory are included in this scope.

The Apple Vision Pro (M5) model is also among the devices that support these advanced voice customization features. Apple’s most powerful on-device AI model is also limited to new generation products.
