WhatsApp Creates New Center for Activities

WhatsApp Creates New Center for Activities

WhatsApp is adding a new central settings section that simplifies the process of creating and managing activity. Now, tracking activity is much more practical.

WhatsApp is working on a new activity center that allows users to easily create and manage their activities from a single point. This feature, available with WhatsApp beta for Android version 2.26.36.5, allows all activities to be viewed on a single screen through a dedicated section within the application settings.

Now users no longer have to get lost in the relevant chat history to manage an activity. Additionally, with this update, WhatsApp makes the planning process more comprehensive and practical by allowing users to invite even people who don’t use the app to their activities.

  • WhatsApp is adding a central page to the app settings where all activities can be managed.
  • Users can invite even people without a WhatsApp account to created events via contact.
  • The new activity center aims to reduce clutter in the chat list by making activity tracking easier.

Activities are Now Managed from a Single Page

In previous updates, the activity creation feature was limited to group chats and individual messages. However, this became complicated for users who wanted to track multiple activities. Users had to find the relevant chat window each time to check a planned meeting or social activity. This new center developed by WhatsApp eliminates this problem completely by bringing all activities together.

Details Offered by the New Activity Center

This new section, easily noticeable with a badge within the application settings, lists all activities, both those created by the user and those to which they have been invited. Users can quickly enter the activity name, date, time, location, and description information by pressing the “Create Activity” button. Additionally, personalization options are available, such as adding a WhatsApp call relationship or setting a custom cover photo for the activity.

Invitation Process Includes Those Without WhatsApp Accounts

One of the most striking innovations brought by WhatsApp is the expansion of the invitation system. When an activity is created, the system automatically generates a relationship. When this contact is shared with individuals who do not have a WhatsApp account, the other party can view the activity details even if they don’t have the application. Participants only need to enter their names and verify their phone numbers to give their approval.

Privacy and Security Standards are Protected

Information such as date, location, and participant list included in the event details can be seen by invitees and the WhatsApp system. However, in order to protect personal data, participants’ phone numbers can only be seen by other participants registered in their contact lists.

In addition, all personal messages and voice calls on WhatsApp continue to be protected with end-to-end encryption, even if active.

Feature is Being Rolled Out Gradually

This new feature, currently being experienced by Android beta users, is being rolled out gradually through updates released on the Google Play Store.

If you don’t see this section in your settings now, you should remember that WhatsApp will be making it available to more users in the coming weeks. No specific date has yet been shared regarding when the feature will be generally available.
