WhatsApp is working on a new feature that allows users to chat with third-party AI spies.
WhatsApp is working on a new feature that will allow users to directly contact third-party AI spies through the application. Thanks to this WhatsApp third-party AI support , users will be able to give instructions to their chosen AI models, enabling them to perform various missions.
In the past, users risked having their accounts banned when they tried different formulas to perform similar functions. However, this newly developed system aims to offer a more secure and official experience through direct in-app integration.
How Will Third-Party AI Agents Work?
According to information shared by WABetaInfo, the process will operate through a fairly simple API key system. The application will generate a unique API key when a new bot is created, and users will complete the relationship by pasting this key into the relevant AI platform.
Once the connection is established, users can start communicating with the AI spy through a private chat window. In these chats, users can send messages to the AI spies and receive replies directly from within the application.
The AI spy’s access rights are limited. The spy can only read messages shared with it by the user and cannot access other chats, individuals, or media documents.
Currently, this feature is only available in personal chats. Therefore, users cannot add third-party AI spies to group chats or communities.
Restrictions and Usage Details
WhatsApp also allows users to customize each AI spy in this new system. Users can set a different name and profile picture for each spy.
The system supports adding up to five different AI spies per account. However, it should be noted that these chats are not currently end-to-end encrypted.
Warnings are also given that, due to the nature of AI models, the answers given may sometimes be incorrect. For this reason, users are advised to always verify the information received from the spies.
The feature is currently being tested by a limited number of Android users. It is expected to be rolled out to a wider user base soon.
