According to information shared by Arm, when these three technologies are activated simultaneously, the frame rate (FPS) in games can increase up to 4 times. Of course, there is a slight input lag cost due to intermediate frame generation; However, the resulting fluidity and battery savings are becoming a critical advantage for portable platforms.
Chris Bergey, Senior Vice President of Edge AI at ARM, draws attention to the efficiency of the architecture they developed. Bergey emphasizes that a phone with these processors consumes a total of 2.5 watts of power with all its hardware during gaming, and only around 1.5 watts specifically for the GPU.
These costs mean that phones can operate stably for long hours without heating up pockets or excessive battery drain. For example, batteries that previously lasted 30 minutes at the highest settings now promise over 3 hours of uninterrupted gaming experience in a 1080p 60 FPS scenario. The Xiaomi Pad 9 Pro Max
tablet, which uses the same chipset, can reach up to 120 FPS at 3.2K resolution thanks to its large body advantage and improved cooling area.
When Will the Features Arrive and Which Devices Will Use Them?
ARM’s new graphics features are reaching gamers not all at once, but through a phased roadmap. In the first phase, developers will activate the resolution upscaling (Neural Super Sampling) feature, while frame rendering technology is planned to be integrated into games in early 2027, followed shortly after by advanced noise reduction.
