Days before its major launch event on Tuesday, Sony shared the first teaser image of its new mid-range smartphone, the Xperia 10 VIII. Leaked by Android Headlines, this image reveals the device’s rear panel design, sparking curiosity in the tech world.

This device, a successor to the Xperia 10 VII model introduced last September, confirms Sony’s commitment to compact and stable design. These images, which surfaced before the official launch, provide valuable clues about the phone’s aesthetic details and expected color options.

  • The rear camera design of the Sony a white color with slightly greenish tones.
  • Xperia 10 VIII Maintains its Design Lines

Sony is opting for an evolutionary approach rather than fundamental changes in design for the Xperia 10 series. As seen in the leaked image, the horizontal camera island and the placement of the Sony logo on the back of the phone are almost identical to the previous model. By maintaining this design language, Sony aims to reinforce the brand’s identity in the eyes of users. The most striking innovation in the design is the subtle touches in the color palette.

The pure white color option used last year is replaced this year by a new shade with a greenish shimmer.

Hardware Specifications Continue to Maintain Limits

Information about the new model’s technical infrastructure indicates that Sony is positioning this device not as a performance beast, but as a stable everyday use tool. Recently leaked Geekbench data proves that the device is equipped with a Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 processor and 8GB of RAM. This hardware combination is actually based on the same technical foundations as the previous model, the Xperia 10 VII. While other technical details such as the camera module, screen resolution, and battery capacity are not yet official, leaks suggest that the device will come with a modest hardware update.

Compact Design Remains the Focus

Sony has always emphasized the compact and lightweight design of the Xperia 10 series. The previous model’s 6.1-inch FHD+ screen, 19.5:9 aspect ratio, and 168-gram weight were among the most appreciated features by users. The fact that the Xperia 10 VIII model comes with similar physical dimensions shows that the brand continues to focus on the audience looking for a compact phone. Especially in a period when Competitors in the market are increasing screen sizes, Sony’s choice ensures that it maintains its unique user base. Sony will announce all the technical details, pricing, and release date of the device at its event next week.

Do you think Sony’s continuation in the mid-range segment without making fundamental changes in design is a real strategy, or do you think the brand should take more innovative steps? You can join the discussion by sharing your thoughts with us in the comments section.
