The iQOO Pad Ultra with Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 processor has appeared in Geekbench tests. We are examining the details behind the low performance scores.
Qualcomm’s eagerly awaited next-generation processor, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6, recently reappeared in Geekbench performance tests with the iQOO Pad Ultra tablet. The device, listed in the database with model number iPA2691, stands out with its eight-core architecture capable of reaching speeds of 5.01GHz, but the results obtained were considerably below expectations. Equipped with the SM8975 chipset and 16GB of RAM, the tablet runs on Android 17, a software version that has not yet been released. This situation shows that the resulting low performance scores do not fully reflect the device’s true power in the final stage.
Processor Architecture Aims for High Performance
The new generation Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 has a very ambitious architecture developed with 2nm manufacturing technology.
According to Geekbench records, the processor; It consists of three high-performance cores running at 3.74GHz, three at 4.03GHz, and two at 5.01GHz. On the graphics side, it features an Adreno 850 GPU unit.
However, despite all this technical data, the device’s single-core test score of 1,512 and multi-core test score of 6,770 surprised the technology world. These scores are even behind many older generation processors.
Temperature Control Affects Performance
Experts state that the low results are due more to unoptimized software and company software than to hardware deficiencies.
The iQOO Pad Ultra offers a highly attractive cooling solution to ensure the continuity of high performance. The compact fan module, measuring 30 x 30 x 3.5mm, located inside the device, aims to manage thermal limits by reaching a clock speed of up to 14,500rpm.
This tablet, planned to be released in the Chinese market at the end of September, is expected to achieve much higher performance values with new software when it comes to market.
