Sennheiser has officially announced the MOMENTUM True Wireless 5, the newest addition to its flagship wireless headphone series. Combining superior sound quality with sustainability, the headphones stand out with their user-replaceable battery, Bluetooth 6.0 technology, and Dolby Atmos head tracking support.

Acoustic Engineering and Lossless Sound Performance

At the heart of the MOMENTUM True Wireless 5 are 7mm TrueResponse dynamic drivers manufactured at the brand’s Tullamore facility in Ireland. Optimized to produce natural sound character, deep bass, and clear treble, the model raises the bar in wireless connectivity standards. Utilizing Bluetooth 6.0, the headset provides lossless (bit-perfect) audio transmission at 24-bit/96 kHz thanks to aptX Adaptive and aptX Lossless codec support.

Users can customize the sound profile according to their hearing sensitivity with the 8-band equalizer and “Sound Personalization” mode offered via the new Smart Control Plus application.

Enhanced Noise Cancellation and Call Quality

The redesigned adaptive hybrid active noise cancellation (ANC) system analyzes and filters ambient sounds in real-time. Micro-perforated acoustic grilles on the headset physically cut out wind noise, providing a stable experience. On the call side, a total of eight sensors are involved: six microphones and two bone conduction accelerometers, combined with AI-assisted sound isolation, ensuring clear sound transmission even in crowded environments.

User-Replaceable Battery and Ergonomics

Sennheiser is taking a valuable step against battery aging, one of the biggest problems in the wireless headphone industry. The MOMENTUM True Wireless 5 features user-replaceable battery modules in both the earbud bodies and the charging case, using a screwdriver. This extends the device’s lifespan and reduces electronic waste.

Offering up to 12 hours of uninterrupted music playback on a single charge, the model reaches a total of 40 hours of battery life with the Qi wireless charging case. An 8-minute quick charge provides 1 hour of use. The new wingless and aerodynamic body, shaped by thousands of ear scan data, promises comfort in daily use with its IP54 water and dust resistance certification.

Dolby Atmos Head Tracking Support and Turkey Release Date

The spatial sound technology we know from the over-ear MOMENTUM models is brought to the in-ear format with this model. The headphones, which have Dolby Atmos optimization, dynamically position the soundstage by detecting the user’s head movements with their integrated head tracking feature. Features such as Snapdragon Sound, Google Fast Pair, Microsoft Swift Pair, and “robust mode” to prevent connection drops are also included in the hardware package.

The Sennheiser MOMENTUM True Wireless 5, which will be available in five different color options: Graphite, Cream, Copper, Denim, and Lavender, is planned to be released in the Turkish market in September.
