Samsung’s new foldable phone Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra has been officially confirmed in Bluetooth SIG records. Here are the first details about the device.
Samsung continues to work on two new Galaxy Z Fold 8 models that it plans to launch this year. It has been confirmed in official documents that the name of one of the models that will be included in the company’s new foldable phone series will be Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra.
Records appearing in the Bluetooth SIG database reveal the accuracy of the name Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra. This information, which includes five different entries, shows that there are various variants of the device and the official certification process has been completed.
Details of the Ultra model become clear
Although the Bluetooth SIG list does not include detailed information about the technical specifications of the device, it gives valuable clues about Samsung’s new naming strategy. The company is expected to name the other model, which has a shorter and wider form factor, as Galaxy Z Fold 8 without any additional jewelry.
The Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra model is designed to have a similar footprint to the previous generation Galaxy Z Fold 7. This new device aims to differentiate itself from the standard model with some improvements specific to the Ultra series.
According to leaked information, the device is expected to come with a 5,000mAh capacity battery and be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor. It is assumed that the phone, which is expected to be approximately 4.1mm thick when unfolded, will have a thinner and lighter structure compared to other members of the series.
New design and expectations
Samsung’s strategy this year seems to be based on offering two other devices that address different user needs in the foldable phone market. While the standard Galaxy Z Fold 8 model draws attention with its larger screen structure, the Ultra version stands out with its high-end hardware features.
Previous leaks indicate that the new series may offer significant improvements in screen folding marks. These changes on the design side can solve one of the points that users complain about most about foldable devices.
