Samsung has officially started the mass production process of the Samsung Exynos 2700. According to information shared by the Korean news outlet The Elec, the company has increased its production targets by over 10 percent compared to the previous generation Exynos 2600. The main reason for this increase is the inclusion of the newly added Galaxy S27 Pro model in the production plans. The company aims to ensure the necessary chip supply for all models in the new series.

Regional Processor Strategy and Galaxy S27 Ultra

Along with the Samsung Galaxy S27 Pro, the standard and Plus models will be launched in the Korean and European markets with the Exynos 2700 processor. Models in the United States and China will use the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 processor.

The processor that the Galaxy S27 Ultra model will use is not yet clear. Samsung System LSI believes that the Exynos 2700 has sufficient performance for a high-end flagship.

This choice would enhance the benefits of the chip design and prove that the Exynos 2700 is suitable for an Ultra-class device. However, Samsung MX is responsible for the production of the phones, will make the final decision.

Samsung MX is currently evaluating several factors, including benchmark results, thermal performance costs, and Qualcomm chip prices. Additionally, the production capacity of the Exynos 2700 chips plays a critical role in this decision.

The company is conducting extensive testing to determine whether the Exynos 2700’s performance meets flagship standards. This evaluation process is a key factor directly impacting the device’s competitiveness in the market.

Technical Specifications and Performance Expectations

The Exynos 2700 is manufactured using Samsung’s second-generation 2nm Gate-All-Around (GAA) manufacturing node, SF2P technology. This technology offers significant improvements compared to the first-generation SF2 node.

SF2P provides a 12% performance increase, a 25% reduction in power consumption, and an 8% smaller chip area. Architecturally, the Exynos 2700 is expected to use Arm C2 CPU cores.

The previously used Exynos 2600 model featured C1 cores. This architectural shift is expected to positively impact the overall processing power of devices.

Internal tests have shown that the Exynos 2700 outperforms the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 by 9.5% in multi-core Geekbench tests. However, the Snapdragon processor still has an advantage in single-core tests.

The time from mass production to the final product of a chipset is approximately three to four months. This timeline seems consistent with the plan to release the Galaxy S27 series in February or March.
