Release Date Announced for God of War Laufey
Sony announced that the God of War Laufey game will be released for PS5 on February 16, 2027. Another new game starring Kratos has been approved.
Sony announced its next special release that will come to the PlayStation 5 platform following the release of Marvel’s Wolverine game in September. In the statement made within the scope of the San Diego Comic-Con 2026 event, the release date of the God of War Laufey game developed by Santa Monica Studio became official.
This new action-adventure game is the next chapter of the mythological saga, which has been eagerly awaited by a wide range of players. The announcement of the project took its place on the calendar along with other major launches in the gaming world.
God of War Laufey Will Release on February 16, 2027
God of War Laufey will be released for PlayStation 5 consoles on February 16, 2027. Sony Santa Monica group had previously confirmed that the game would also be available in physical disc format.
This development is of great importance after Sony decided to end the production of PlayStation discs by 2028. The physical version of the game stands out as a remarkable option for collectors during this transition period.
New God of War Game with Kratos Confirmed
During the event, Santa Monica Studio Creative Director Cory Barlog stated that a new God of War game starring Kratos is on the way. It was stated that this new production will come after God of War Laufey and will present a narrative directly related to his story.
The independent adventure of the Faye character contains valuable clues about the future of the series. It is assumed that after Kratos leaves the Greek pantheon behind and engages with the Scandinavian gods, the new story may extend to different mythologies such as Egypt and Tibet.
The main story of the series continued with God of War Ragnarök, published in 2022. Earlier this year, in cooperation with Sony Santa Monica and Mega Cat Studios, the game God of War Sons of Sparta, in which young Kratos is controlled, was released to the players.
In addition, although it is known that work is continuing on the re-production project of the brand new God of War trilogy, detailed information about this production has not been shared yet.
