Processors Speed Up with Windows 11 Update

Processors Speed Up with Windows 11 Update

The new Low Latency Profile feature released for Windows 11 speeds up the processor and eliminates lag in the Start menu and application openings.

Microsoft has developed a new feature for the Windows 11 operating system that aims to improve system performance. This innovation, called Low Latency Profile, is specifically designed to speed up application launches and basic shell experiences.

This feature works by briefly increasing the processor to high frequencies when the system detects delay-sensitive processes. Thus, it is aimed to make interactions in areas such as the Start menu, Search and Process Center more fluid.

CPU overclocking support for performance boost

The smoothing in question was included in Windows 11 versions 24H2 and 25H2 with optional update KB5089573. In the update notes, it is stated that this change provides an overall performance increase and shortens the reaction time of the system.

Tests show that this feature eliminates micro lags that occur when opening the Start menu. Processor usage rises to high levels for a short time, especially when the Process Center is opened, allowing commands to be processed faster.

The feature is currently turned off by default and must be manually activated by users. Users who install the relevant update can check and include optional updates in the system via the Settings menu.

Feature usage systems and details

Microsoft plans to gradually offer this feature to a wider user base in June. Although there is no direct on/off button on the system at this stage, advanced users can activate the feature using third-party tools such as ViveTool.

Using ViveTool stands out as a procedure accessible via the official GitHub repository. However, it is worth remembering that the use of such tools is not a standard user experience.

This feature, which is expected to be included by default on all computers with future updates, aims to minimize lag in the Windows 11 interface.
