Samsung has started to distribute the Android 16-based One UI 8.5 stable version for the Galaxy S25 series. The new update offers advanced artificial intelligence tools and professional video features.
This update, which comes after an extensive beta process that has been going on for about five months, brings many advanced features and artificial intelligence tools that were initially exclusive to the Galaxy S26 series to the Galaxy S25, S25 + and S25 Ultra models. The new version not only offers a visual freshness, but also includes significant improvements in the performance and security infrastructure of the device.
New Generation Features Coming to Galaxy S25 Models
The One UI 8.5 update comes with Samsung’s new generation artificial intelligence assistant called “Agentic AI” and powerful productive tools such as “Creative Studio”. Users can now edit images in greater detail with text commands, change clothing colors or add realistic objects to photos.
Especially for video content creators, real-time color preview (LUT) support in “Log video” shooting takes the mobile shooting experience to a professional level.
On the design side, smoother animations and transparent blur effects attract attention. The notification panel and quick settings menu offer a much wider range of customization options according to user preferences.
In addition, the “Bixby Text Call” feature allows the user to receive information without answering the phone by answering incoming calls with the help of an assistant and transcribing conversations instantly into text.
Samsung’s new interface, One UI 8.5, is more than just a version upgrade, it includes critical improvements that aim to use the large screen potential of foldable devices more efficiently.
Multitasking management now becomes much more fluid on the 8-inch giant screen of Galaxy Z Fold 7. Application continuity and split-screen workflows deliver a more eye-pleasing and lag-free experience thanks to the new animation engine.
The “Ambient Design” language that comes with the update better optimizes the screen area, leaving the user with a wider interaction area.
In particular, floating navigation components and renewed system applications facilitate one-handed use and highlight the advantages offered by the foldable form factor. This package, which also includes the April 2026 security patches, maximizes system stability.
Android 16 and Software Stability
Samsung proves its claim on software support with this update based on Google’s Android 16 version. This package, which also includes the May 2026 security patches, increases the overall stability of the system and also offers optimizations in battery efficiency.
The reason why the beta process takes longer than usual is because Samsung wants to reduce the margin of error to zero and provide a smooth experience to its users.
In particular, “Smart Selection” and the improved “Translator” mode used throughout the system increasing efficiency in daily use. With the automatic language detection feature, conversations in foreign languages are translated instantly without having to press any button.
Update Schedule and Türkiye Situation
One UI 8.5 stable version is currently reaching users in South Korea first. The update, which is distributed gradually, is planned to be activated for Galaxy S25 series users in Europe and then in Turkey in the coming days. Users can access this major innovation by checking the “Software Update” tab in the “Settings” menu of their phones.
Samsung is expected to release this update for the Galaxy S24 series and its foldable models, Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7, in the coming weeks.
