NVIDIA shared comprehensive announcements at Gamescom 2026 that completely revamp the GeForce RTX ecosystem. Powered by the second-generation Transformer model, DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction technology was launched, while RTX Mega Geometry, which removes the geometry limitations of Unreal Engine 5, and the RTX Spark platform, which provides personalized AI integration, also took center stage. DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction Released: Second Generation Transformer Model Arrives
DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction, which has begun to be distributed via the new NVIDIA application update for all GeForce RTX graphics cards, takes image quality to the next level in ray tracing and path tracing processes. Replacing classic manual denoising algorithms, the new AI model cleans up noise in areas where ray sampling is insufficient thanks to neural networks trained on superb computers.
The new architecture, which merges Denoising and Super Resolution processes into one, stands out with its more stable pixel generation, expanded training knowledge set, and precise control options offered to developers. The technology can be used directly in 30 well-known games initially, including Alan Wake 2, Cyberpunk 2077, DOOM: The Dark Ages, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, Hogwarts Legacy, and PRAGMATA, via the NVIDIA application.
RTX Mega Geometry Pushes the Boundaries of Unreal Engine 5
Developed by NVIDIA after six years of extensive R&D, RTX Mega Geometry technology is making its debut with Gears of War: E-Day , which will be released on October 6th. While Unreal Engine 5’s Nanite micropolygon geometry system significantly increased the level of detail, it had to use simplified, low-detail meshes in ray tracing calculations. This led to visual inconsistencies in shadows and reflections.
RTX Mega Geometry delivers physically realistic shadows and clear reflections by incorporating the entire Nanite geometry into the ray tracing compute line in a lossless form. NVIDIA aims to integrate this innovation into Microsoft’s DirectX Raytracing 2.0 (DXR 2.0) standard in the future, spreading it across the entire Unreal Engine 5 ecosystem.
