Nubia launched its artificial intelligence-supported pet robot iMoochi, which was developed to establish emotional friendship rather than classic voice assistant duties, for sale in the Chinese market. The device, which was first announced by ZTE at the MWC 2026 fair, meets users with a starting price of 1,699 yuan.

The package option of the device, which comes with a cloud charging station, has a price tag of 1,778 yuan. With this new work, Nubia aims to provide residential users with a digital pet experience.

iMoochi specifications and capabilities

Designed in a different structure than traditional smart speakers, iMoochi comes with a skin-friendly plush outer casing and sturdy silicone face mask. There is a double OLED screen on the eye part of the device, which can automatically adjust its brightness according to the ambient light and reflect dynamic expressions.

Stepper motors inside the robot enable it to nod its head or move its tail in response to user interactions. Five different touch sensors and a six-axis inertial sensor can detect when the device is lifted, shaken or moved.

iMoochi, which can detect the direction the sound comes from thanks to its multiple microphone array, works with an artificial intelligence model that can analyze the emotional context. To avoid the disturbing effect of humanoid voices, Nubia prefers a special iMoochi language and animal-like sounds prepared by professional sound artists.

The device can recognize its owner by recognizing voice commands and creates a familiarity score based on interaction history over time. Thanks to daily rhythm simulation, the robot; It can exhibit autonomous behaviors such as yawning, reacting to temperature changes or initiating games.

Connection options and user experience

Coming with built-in Wi-Fi and 4G support, iMoochi offers 4G data service for a certain period of time with the purchase so that it can work outside local networks. The device, which uses NFC technology to interact with other iMoochi units, promises 8 to 10 hours of use on a single charge.

Users can track friendship duration, monitor the emotional state of the robot, and save interaction records through the iMoochi Life mobile application. The box of the product, which comes in brown, pink and white color options, includes a charging cable, protective case, comb, eye mask and birth certificate card.
