Google is introducing new capabilities for its Gemini Spark personal assistant, following the update released two weeks ago. With this update, the company expands the assistant’s control over Google Workspace applications.

Users can now open and edit Google Docs documents via Gemini Spark. In addition, the assistant can make comprehensive changes to private or shared spreadsheets and presentations.

A New Era in Workspace Integration

Gemini Spark can now read comments in spreadsheets and presentations. Additionally, the ability to add visuals to documents and presentations has also been included in the system.

Users can edit and enhance both private and shared documents using the Canvas panel. These innovations aim to make interaction with Workspace applications more fluid.

Google has also made significant improvements to Gemini Spark’s performance. It is stated that the assistant now works more than 50 percent faster and completes long tasks in a much shorter time.

Thanks to the Smarter sourcing feature, resources are scanned and examined in parallel in complex missions. This improves the user experience by accelerating information processing processes.

Notifications and Access Updates

The notification system has also been updated to provide more detailed information when user input is required. If users are in an active mission sequence in the Gemini web app, notifications about that mission will not be sent to their portable devices.

Gemini Spark is available for Google AI Ultra subscribers in regions outside the European Economic Area, Nigeria, Switzerland and the United Kingdom. Google official Josh Woodward stated that AI Pro members will also encounter new access updates soon.
