Models That Will Not Receive the Nothing OS 5.0 Update Have Been Announced

There are definitely Nothing and CMF models that will not receive the Nothing OS 5.0 update. Find out which devices are supported and the current software status.

While Nothing is accelerating its preparations for the Android 17-based Nothing OS 5.0 update, the list of supported devices that users have been eagerly awaiting is starting to become clear. The company has started the beta process for selected devices, and the stable version is expected to be released to the general public within a few weeks.

However, the brand has officially announced that it will no longer release a new operating system update for some models that have already fulfilled their update promises. This situation means the end of an era, especially for those using first-generation Nothing devices. While the Nothing OS 5.0 update stands out with its new interface features and performance improvements, some devices will be deprived of these innovations.

  • Nothing Phone 1, Nothing Phone 2, and CMF Phone 1 models will not receive the Android 17 update.
  • Nothing Phone 2 and CMF Phone 1 models will continue to receive security patches until 2027.
  • Nothing Phone 1 model has officially reached the end of its lifespan.

Which Devices Are Excluded from the Update?

With the expansion of the Nothing ecosystem, software updates have become a critical issue for users. According to the official statement, Nothing Phone 1, Nothing Phone 2, and CMF Phone 1 models are among the devices that will not receive the Android 17-based Nothing OS 5.0 update. The company stated that the basic operating system update commitments for these models have been successfully completed.

No more random software or security updates will be released for the Nothing Phone 1 model.

Security Updates Continue

The process is different for the Nothing Phone 2 and CMF Phone 1, which will not receive the Android 17 update. Although these two models will not be able to upgrade to the new operating system version, they will continue to receive regular security patches until mid-2027.

This means that device owners can use their phones reliably for a while longer. However, for first-generation Nothing Phone 1 owners, the process is completely over; This device will no longer receive any random software support.

To avoid being deprived of current security protection, Nothing Phone 1 users are advised to upgrade to a new model.

A New Era Begins for Users

Nothing OS 5.0 comes with innovations aimed at making the user experience smoother and visually richer. However, users who want to benefit from the opportunities offered by these updates need to upgrade to a newer hardware model.

Especially protecting against security threats and accessing the latest features has become a major necessity for users’ digital security. The brand’s strategy seems to be based on focusing its existing resources on newer devices while maintaining the highest level of software quality.

Do you think Nothing’s update policy is sufficient, or do you think the brand should provide support for older devices for a longer period? You can share your opinions with us in the comments section.
