Microsoft announced the new Surface RTX Spark Dev Box system, powered by 128 GB memory and NVIDIA RTX Spark SoC, with completely passive cooling.
Microsoft officially introduced the Surface RTX Spark Dev Box, its most powerful hardware designed for developers, at the Build 2026 event. Developed in strategic cooperation with NVIDIA, this system aims to break new ground in local artificial intelligence performance based on the RTX Spark SoC architecture. The device, which is expected to be released later in the year, has been optimized especially for professionals working on artificial intelligence models that require high processing power. This system, which comes with the developer-focused Windows 11 version, aims to offer developers a more efficient working environment by eliminating complex AI development processes.
The System Offers High Artificial Intelligence Performance
Surface RTX Spark Dev Box incorporates NVIDIA’s latest technologies, enabling AI models with parameters over 120B to run smoothly. 112 GB of the 128 GB combined memory capacity can be allocated directly to the GPU unit. In this way, developers can perform model training and inference much faster in the local environment. Integrated with visualization tools and WindowsML, the system is fully compatible with modern development tools such as TensorRT and Windows Copilot Runtime.
The new generation hardware revolutionizes major language models with its 1 million token context support.
Design Based on Silent Cooling Technology
Microsoft chose a special grid structure produced with a 3D printing system using anodized aluminum on the outer casing of the device.
The 1000 air channels in this design enable passive cooling of the device without the need for any fan support. This metal case, which can dissipate heat up to 100W TDP, offers an ideal solution for professionals looking for a completely quiet working environment.
The physical connection points of the device include two USB Type-C, USB-A, HDMI and Ethernet ports.

Security is Provided at the Hardware Level
To protect professional workflows, the device includes the most up-to-date security protocols offered by Microsoft. Secured-core PC architecture and BitLocker encryption features ensure local protection of information. Supported by Microsoft Defender, the system allows developers to work safely on their most sensitive projects.
