WhatsApp has started testing the document sharing feature with Meta AI for iOS users. Here are the details about Meta AI’s new capabilities.
WhatsApp is rolling out a new update so that users can interact with Meta AI more efficiently. This innovation allows iOS users to share documents with Meta AI via direct chat.
This feature, which was previously tested on Android, is now coming to Apple devices with WhatsApp beta for iOS 26.20.10.72.
Meta AI becomes more functional with document sharing
Until now, Meta AI had offered a limited interaction model with text-based messaging and image sharing. The inability to directly share documents such as PDFs or spreadsheets limited the use of the chatbot, especially in business and analysis-oriented processes.
With the new update, users can send their documents directly to Meta AI using the attachments menu in the chat. In this way, artificial intelligence can analyze the content of shared documents and provide faster and more accurate responses.
Users can now speed up the analysis process by sharing the document directly, instead of copying and pasting complex texts or taking a screenshot. Meta AI can examine the questions in the shared documents step by step and offer solutions.
Phased rollout process for iOS users
Currently, this feature is available to a limited number of beta testers using WhatsApp beta for iOS 26.20.10.72 via TestFlight. Some users can also access this innovation through the current version on the App Store.

WhatsApp aims to bring this feature to a wider user base in the coming weeks. This development makes Meta AI a more practical assistant in both personal and professional workflows.
How much easier do you think Meta AI’s ability to analyze documents will make your work in daily use?
