MediaTek Dimensity 9600 Series Comes in Three Different Models

MediaTek Dimensity 9600 Series Comes in Three Different Models

MediaTek Dimensity 9600 series; The 9600s comes in Pro and Pro Max models. Here are the technical specifications of the new chipsets, price estimates and the first phones to use them.

MediaTek is preparing to launch the new Dimensity 9600 series, which is eagerly awaited in the smartphone world. According to the latest information from industry sources, the new series, which is planned to be introduced shortly before Qualcomm’s event in September, will consist of three different variants: Dimensity 9600s, Dimensity 9600 Pro and Dimensity 9600 Pro Max. Details shared by Smart Chip Insider show that MediaTek is following a strong strategy targeting both the upper-mid segment and flagship devices. These new chipsets aim to increase the competition in the portable processor market by powering high-performance phones, especially the Vivo X500 and Oppo Find X10 series.

  • Dimensity 9600 series; It offers three different options with 9600s, Pro and Pro Max models.
  • The new chipsets are expected to be developed with TSMC’s N2P manufacturing technology.
  • Vivo X500 and Oppo Find X10 series will be the first devices to use these processors.
  • It is estimated that the new series will increase phone prices due to the increase in cost.

Processor Architecture Technical Details Have Been Determined

The technical infrastructure of the models to be included in the new series looks quite remarkable. According to leaks, the Dimensity 9600s model appears as an optimized version of the previous generation Dimensity 9500, produced with TSMC’s N3P process. On the other hand, Pro and Pro Max models are built on the more advanced N2P production technology. The main differences between these two models are thought to be in the watch faces and general configuration details.

It is predicted that the Dimensity 9600s chipset will compete with the standard version of its rival Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6.

Costs of High-Segment Phones Will Increase

MediaTek Dimensity 9600 series is expected to enter the technology world with the Vivo X500 and Oppo Find X10 series. According to reports, the Oppo Find X10 model will come with Dimensity 9600s, while the Pro and Pro Max models will use their own high-end chipsets.

However, this technological leap comes with a price. Leaks reveal that the new series will cost approximately $215 more than the existing Dimensity 9500 chipsets.

Increasing production costs will be directly reflected in end-user prices and will increase the sales price of the devices.

Market Competition Is Reshaping

With this new move, MediaTek is making its competition with Qualcomm even tougher. In particular, the use of N2P production technology can provide a significant advantage in terms of power efficiency and performance. However, the impact of price increases on consumers will be the main factor determining the position of new smartphones in the market. It remains a matter of curiosity how brands such as Vivo and Oppo, especially in the premium segment, will manage this cost increase.

What do you think about this new processor strategy from MediaTek? Do you think the performance increase offered by the Dimensity 9600 series will be worth the increased costs? Don’t forget to share your comments with us.
